Bacteria are all around us; in our food, on our skin, and sometimes, most unfortunately, in our products. Our July issue is best known for The Top 50, the annual report on the leading US companies in the global household and personal products industry. The Top 50 can be found here, and, as you’d expect, even a slimmed down Procter & Gamble is well ahead of runner-up Colgate-Palmolive. This issue of Happi also includes our annual update on preservatives. Melissa Meisel contacted many of the biggest preservative suppliers in our industry to learn more about what’s bugging them as this important category continues to be besieged by misinformation. Also this month, is a look at the latest trends in facial cosmetics. Christine Esposito explains why BB and CC formulas aren’t making the grade anymore in this multibillion dollar segment. And be sure to visit Happi.com later this month, where we report on the Skin Microbiome Congress. The event attracted 250 beauty industry executives and attendees heard presentations from formulators, regulators, suppliers and entrepreneurs on this fast-growing category. On the topic of great events, read the wrap-up article on NYSCC Suppliers’ Day, which continues to be the dominant event in the US cosmetics industry. Happi also includes a preview of Cosmoprof North America, which will be held later this month in Las Vegas. Finally, for formulators trying to go palm-less, read insights from Palm Free Council Founder Carol Matasoot. We hope that you enjoy this issue of Happi, and as always, we welcome your comments and suggestions. Tom Branna Editorial Director [email protected]
